PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) — Police say a 61-year-old Maine man has died after being hit by an SUV on Friday in Portland.
Police say the crash happened around 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of Fore and India streets.
Investigators say an SUV driven by a 69-year-old Falmouth woman was taking a left turn onto India Street when the SUV hit 61-year-old Joe Lewis of Portland.
Lewis was taken to Maine Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, according to police.
According to Port City Legal, Lewis was an attorney for the firm.
The crash remains under investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time.
